Greeting Cards

NEW DESIGNS - I'm excited to introduce my new Bird Series greeting cards. They are professionally printed from my original hand-painted paper collages and each card is packaged with a matching envelope and in a protective clear sleeve. The cards are blank inside so you can write your personal greeting. They also make great gifts and stocking stuffers. The cards normally retail at $6 each but for the month of December I am selling them in packs of 4 for $20. You get to choose which 4 you would like. If you are interested in purchasing some cards, please email me.

I have a limited number of my Quilt Series cards available and these can also be purchased in packs of 4 for $20. They can be mixed and matched with the Bird Series depending on availability.

Pink Buddha - Hand Painted Paper Collage on Cradled Wood Panel - 8" x 10"

Here is my first Buddha collage. I've wanted to create a Buddha painting for a long time and I finally made one recently. I find the Buddha very peaceful to look at and this is the first of a series that I plan to make. When I am at my yoga class I imagine that I am surrounded by all my Buddha paintings (that are, of course, still in my imagination).

ART TOUR 2016

I have been selected to take part in the Art Tour 2016 at the beginning of June so I'm busy working as hard as I can to make as much art as I can. I am showing at Coco Crafted Organic Chocolates at 365 Jane St, Toronto, together with my artist friend Bernadette Hunt. This is the first time we've participated in the Art Tour and we're very excited about it. We're also very excited about spending a large chunk of our weekend in a chocolateria! The chocolate, which is all organic, is fabulous and their hot chocolate is so delicious. (Yes, I've been known to drink hot chocolate in June), lol!

Faces ... Faces ... Faces

One of the things I like to do when I am not making collages is draw and paint faces. Here are some that I've done recently. I hope you enjoy them.

The papers I used for the first two faces were scrap pieces left over from a gelatin plate printing session. I drew the faces first in pencil and then went over them with a black marker so that they would show up against the strong background colours. I then used coloured markers to paint the other details. I really liked the contrast between the randomly painted background and the strong black lines and was very pleased with the way they turned out.

I did the next three faces on gessoed pages of my sketchbook. The paper was quite thin and the gesso gives it some body. Once the gesso was dry, I drew the faces with a Stabilo All black pencil and then activated the pencil with a paintbrush and water. I love the effect you can create with this pencil. On the third face I added some details with coloured pencils.

I drew the last face with graphite on a heavier sheet of paper and then coloured it with my favourite colouring pencils, Prismacolor Pencils. This was so relaxing to do and I enjoyed every minute of it.
